ALYOF May Edition

When thinking about what goals (sewing wise) to set for this month,I was kind of in a quandary.  Since I am not sure exactly what projects to include...

  • get caught up on my BOM blocks (not including the quilting) 4 blocks to make
  • make the tester for my niece's bridesmaids clutches ~ get it sent to her for approval
  • barn block # 5 & keep current with 6 & 7 when they are posted
  • get FB swap (grocery bag) for this quarter done
As far as my projects for the farmers market, since I am not decided as to exactly what all I will be making this month, those will all just be "projects" this month instead of goals.

Since I do not have any photos for my about a few photos of the gift that my mom will be receiving for Mothers Day.

Mom loves trains,so when I came across this book,I knew it would make a great Mothers Day gift for her!  All the quilts have to do with the railroad era,so she is sure to love it.

Since she has a train quilt planned for herself, this book should come in quite handy :)

She is sure to find at least a few blocks to add into her quilt!

In other bloggy news, are you planning to participate in the 10th annual May Giveaway Day?

It starts at 6am PST May 6 2013!  You can find more info over atSew Mama Sew .  I will be participating, but will not get my post up until sometime after work tomorrow.

Will try to get back mid week to show you the table toppers/runners I have been working on :)  Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

  1. Sounds like some good goals! Looking forward to seeing what you will make for Farmer's Market. We went to ours today :)

  2. Glad you were able to get a spot at the Farmer's Market. How often do you set up, once a week or once a month? Good luck with your goals for May. :-)

  3. Oh that's fun...I didn't know your mom quilts. Does she live near you?

I love how the books has train blocks in it. I am fascinated by how many kinds of blocks there are. What a fun book!

One of my favorite books is a history of aprons. And you know what I found at our church's yardsale? A bagful of beautiful vintage aprons that someone had sewed by hand and machine. It was literally like I found some of the exact aprons from the book. Magic!

  4. ps. No giveaway for Sew Mama Sew, but on Friday I am having a giveaway of something I made for the For The Birds blog hop if I can get it done in time;)
